Mapping Register

Each SIPA database field is mapped to a CIDOC-CRM graph pattern through a formal register. Active mappings have been implemented and validated; planned mappings have defined patterns but await implementation.

CRM Classes Used

The mapping uses 20 CIDOC-CRM and CRMba classes to model built heritage. Each monument generates a subgraph connecting the physical object to its production events, temporal spans, places, persons, and materials.

Core Graph Pattern

Every monument follows this central pattern. The crmba:B1_Built_Work anchors the graph, linked to production events (who built it, when, with what), modification events (restorations, alterations), and classification through Getty AAT types.
